Our Vision

At Marakhoff Kennels we believe that temperament, health, structure and movement are critical to a successful breeding program.  Our vision of the perfect borzoi will appear as poetry in motion with all balanced structure and lines flowing together exhibiting a power to perform that is unmistakable!  The perfect borzoi will take your breath away and leave you speechless as only art in motion can do.

MBIS CH Arbee Oslo

Oslo had a phenominal show career.  He won 10 All Breed Best In Shows and the Hound Group at the Syndney Royal Show under renowned judge Mr. Harry Glover (UK). He was also "Borzoi Of The Year" winner in  ______.

Oslo was a dog who really enjoyed the ring and was breathtaking on the move!  We have worked to maintain his strong traits throughout our breeding program.

Oslo sired 4 champions, the most notable of these was:

 

MBIS BISS CH Marakhoff Dmitri Zakov

Zakov moved just like his father Oslo.  In the days before the title "Grand Champion", Zakov was indeed a GRAND CHAMPION.  His spectacular show record of 17 Best Exhibit In Show wins made him Australia's greatest winning borzoi at a time when show entries were at their peak and the number of shows far fewer than today.

This benchmark that Zakov set endured for almost 20 years.  Although selectively used, Zakov sired many Champions, BIS and GROUP winning borzoi.

Zakov combined with another of our outstanding sires, AM CAN AUST CH Kishiga Land Of Lakes (Canadian Import) in the 1980's; these two dogs have had a profound influence on the breed and are behind the majority of top winning Borzoi in Australia. 

Proof that great dogs are not a matter of chance or mathematics, but that qulaity begets quality.
