Our Vision

At Marakhoff Kennels we believe that temperament, health, structure and movement are critical to a successful breeding program.  Our vision of the perfect borzoi will appear as poetry in motion with all balanced structure and lines flowing together exhibiting a power to perform that is unmistakable!  The perfect borzoi will take your breath away and leave you speechless as only art in motion can do. 

 

My name is Kay Sneath, founder of Marakhoff Kennels.  I have been involved in the sport of dogs since 1972.  Marakhoff has been exhibiting and breeding 'Best In Show' winning Borzoi for more than 30 years. We have imported bloodlines from Canada and the UK, and exported to Canada, New Zealand and Japan. 

In that time there have been 15 Marakhoff litters, and I have bred and/or owned more than 40 Champions, 8 individual Best In Show winners, 6 of whom were Multi BIS winners.  Marakhoff Borzoi have succeeded at the highest level and I am very proud to have produced Royal BIS, National BIS, Specialty & All Breeds BIS, and Borzoi of the Year winners. A small "boutique" kennel, we ocassionally offer thoughtfully bred puppies to approved homes. Bookings recommended. 

I have judged in most states of Australia & the USA. And I am most honoured to have been selected on the panel to judge Hound of the Year in both Victoria & NSW.  I am currently a member of:  Borzoi Club of Victoria, Borzoi Club of NSW, Borzoi Club of QLD, Borzoi Club Of UK, Borzoi Club Of America, Hound Club Of Victoria and Hound Club of ACT.

Everywhere that I have traveled, the passion we all share for this exquisite breed is evident in the wonderful friendships that have grown throughout the years.   These memories and
experiences I will treasure always.
